The Kona Residence is a single family residence in Hawaii, the result of a collaboration between the Belzberg Architects and interior design firm MLK Studio. Awarded the Freestanding House 2010 Award from Interior Design magazine, the modern home is made of different pods, each bringing new views and opportunities. Two sleeping pods and a central living area composed of the main living, cooking and dining spaces are linked with each other via gallery corridors. Read More

You will be definitely amazed to see this huge re-modeled house that dates back to the 1950s. House Lam, constructed by Johannesburg-based studio Nico van der Meulen Architects, is large modern home situated at Bedfordview – a suburb of Johannesburg– inSouth Africa. Spread across three floors, the house also sports an infinity edge pool that extends over the steep fall with a diameter column of 3m. There is also a heavy rock clad wall bisecting the house vertically. The house, with frameless stacking doors, has its foot-print area extended to create a new floor and garages along with a pyjama lounge and kids’ study room. The children’s bedroom and master suite of the old home has been transformed into a study and guest suite respectively. Stunning Pure White Residence

Madrid-based architectural studio Abaton created a stunning pure white residential project in Spain, which they named Casa del Pico. Two levels shelter all the necessary spaces to live a fulfilled, modern lifestyle. The 3,143 square foot residence had to have two stories, because the inclined slope it rests on challenged the architects to create a strong structure. Granite underneath the house made it possible for the building to take advantage of the terrain and display a contemporary design that seems to be floating. Read More
